Project Joy Box ideas
Use a standard size shoebox (plastic shoeboxes are great). Wrap the cardboard box bottom and top separately Tie the box closed with a string.
Label your gift indicating if it is for a boy or girl and what age range it is intended for
(Less than 2 years, 2-4 years, 5-7 years, 8-10 years, Teens).
Include only NEW items such as:
Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, plastic kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch a Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), small picture books, books in Spanish, Slinky, sunglasses, etc. (no war related items, toy guns or knives).
School Supplies: pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, paint sets, coloring books, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, stickers, erasers, etc.
Hygiene Items: comb, brush, washcloth, soap, shampoo, hair gel, chapstick, toothpaste, Band-Aids, anti-germ gel, deodorant for teens, etc. Please no medication.
Other: rain panchos, flashlights with extra batteries, socks, underwear, t-shirts, hair clips, watches, ball caps a picture of you and your family with a note, etc.
Sweets: small pack of gum or candy or lollypops. PLEASE no candy that might melt and no liquids.
